As the snow settles and another season wraps up at , we want to look back on the winter, not just at the bluebird mornings and deep powder days but also at the stories, events, and community spirit that defined the 2024/25 season.
From four brand-new lift installations to unforgettable events like Turn N Burn and live music at the Powder Keg, this season reflected what Powder Mountain does best: keep skiing soulful, uncrowded, and deeply connected to the people who call this place their mountain.
Whether you were here every weekend or simply following from afar, here’s our recap of another winter full of meaningful moments.

A Season of Growth and Innovation
Three New Lifts, More Flow
This year marked a with three new lift installations. The high-speed Paradise quad and the Timberline fixed-grip quad significantly improved mountain flow, giving skiers quicker access to key terrain and reducing wait times even during peak weekends. The new Lightning Ridge lift was a massive upgrade on the mountain, turning 1,047 acres of terrain into a lift-accessed utopia. Snowcat rides are no longer necessary; simply load the lift and ride the ridge as much as you want.
Terrain Parks Make a Bold Return
After several seasons away, returned to Sundown and Hidden Lake, and they far exceeded everyone’s expectations. With over 45 features updated almost daily, the parks became a playground for all ability levels and a magnet for visiting pros like Tom Wallisch, Madison Blackley, Brita Sigourney, Nicky Keefer, and Tim McChesney.

2025 Unpacked: Your Season, Personalized
This season, we introduced , a new feature designed exclusively for Powder Mountain season passholders. Using RFID technology embedded in each pass, Unpacked offered a personalized breakdown of each rider’s time on the mountain, from favorite lifts to total hours skied to the most vertical feet logged in a single day.
We also awarded prizes to our most dedicated skiers and riders, recognizing and celebrating those who made the most of their season. And this is just the beginning—Unpacked will return with even more insight and detail.
Art on the Mountain
This season also saw the continued growth of the , blending creativity and culture into the alpine environment. Sculptures and immersive pieces became landmarks on the mountain, inviting guests to pause, reflect, and connect with the landscape in a new way.
This season, the Powder Art Foundation welcomed , two striking sculptures by artist Davina Semo. These bells and their unique tones invite guests to engage with the landscape in new ways, prompting moments of reflection, awareness, and connection to the mountain’s natural rhythms. Listener, Reflector, and eventually Mother mark a continued expansion of Powder Mountain’s open-air museum, where art and alpine environment meet to create a deeper, more intentional mountain experience.

Signature Events & Festivities
Passholder Weekends: February at Its Finest
The 2024/25 season brought one of our most anticipated series: . More than 1,100 guests joined us for a February packed with perks and surprises, including:
- Slopeside Treasure Hunt
- Timberline Pancake Bar
- Après with Olympia Provisions & Bingo
- Lakefront Shred & Sizzle
- Igloo Disco
- Frost Fest
We awarded over 250 prizes throughout the month, and the vibes were nothing less than electric. And this was only the beginning—Passholder Weekends will return in 2025/26
Turn N Burn: Fast Laps and Good Times
The 9th Annual Banked Slalom was a high-speed highlight. With divisions ranging from juniors to masters, the event drew a wide range of riders and celebrated skill, style, and grit.
This year, the course featured new lines and transitions, testing even the most seasoned racers. The event base, Timberline Beach, turned into a full-day après party with music, fire pits, and plenty of stoke.

Lightning Ridge Relay: A Team Race With Zero Chill (In the Best Way)
Back for its second year, the brought the chaos and the camaraderie, serving up one of the season’s most rowdy, high-energy events. The event called for teams of three on either skis or splitboards, and pitted them against each other in a skin up The Ridge, a flagged descent through Weber Bowl, and a final push down the Slow Poke Cat Track.
The rules? Simple-ish. Have a team uniform, hit every gate, complete the course, and don’t knock anything over. Helmets were required on the downhill portion of the relay, but the good vibes were not optional.
No Joke Tele Race: Keeping It Free-Heeled
Powder hosted the again this year, the world’s largest telemark banked slalom. If you’ve never seen dozens of free-heel skiers ripping through gates in costume while hooting and hollering, put this one on your list for next year.
The afterparty, featuring live music and dancing at Timberline, was just as memorable as the turns on the hill, celebrating a niche culture with an outsized sense of joy and community.
Live Music at the Powder Keg
One of the most consistent and beloved experiences this season was the , held Thursday through Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. all season.
The vibe was classic Powder—casual, energetic, and always community-driven. Local bands, traveling artists, and après ski regulars turned the Keg into a go-to spot for skiers to unwind, connect, and dance in their boots. Whether you stayed for one song or the complete set, it was the kind of gathering that turned good ski days into great ones.

Looking Ahead to 2025/26
Looking ahead to next season, we’re not slowing down. Powder’s always working on upgrades that matter—things that make your time on the mountain better, not busier. The Powder Art Foundation is rolling out new pieces, the terrain stays fresh, and the focus remains the same: meaningful turns, genuine connection, and a place that feels like yours.
