Construction Catch Up - July 12th
Welcome back to Construction Catch Up – part 2 of the series will focus on the Paradise Lift upgrade. Paradise is Powder Mountain's most iconic lift, featuring steep powder lines and natural jumps.
Paradise was built in 1999 and has been known as the spot to be on a deep powder day ever since. However, the 13-minute lift-ride was the one downside. Paradise will be upgraded to a high-speed quad for the upcoming season, which will greatly reduce lift ride time and make lift line shorter even on a powder day.
Doppelmayr is the lift manufacturer and they have successfully dismantled Paradise. The rope, lift-towers and top and bottom terminals have been fully removed. Paradise is now at that same clean state stage that Timberline is at. Helicopters were used to lift each cross arm off each tower and then the towers themselves were then lifted out of the Paradise area.
Next step is the installation of the new Timberline and Paradise lifts!
