Summer Trails at Powder Mountain

With warmer temperatures and long days, we're stoked to spend time on the mountain this summer. Woody's World, Paper Airplane, East Brim, and the Art Loop are now all open! Remember that parking is available only in the Hidden Lake lot, and you must hike or ride to all trailheads. Please follow all posted signage and respect all trail closures.

General Info

  • Parking is strictly limited to the Hidden Lake lot. Street parking is entirely prohibited.
  • Trailheads can be accessed directly from the lot via Summit Pass Road.
  • Trails will be open from sunrise to sunset.
  • For non-emergencies, call the patrol line at (801) 745-3772 ext. 3 from 8:00am–5:00pm, 7 days a week.
  • For emergencies, call 911.

Trail Etiquette

  • Hikers and runners always have the right of way.
  • Trails are bi-directional; be aware of oncoming traffic.
  • Slow down and make noise around blind corners.
  • Leave no trace; please leave the trails free of trash.

East Brim Trail Info

East Brim trail is a 3.4 mile loop. Since parking is only available in the Hidden Lake parking lot, you must hike or bike to the trailhead. The route options below include roundtrip distance.

Getting to the Trailhead

Use the following routes to access the East Brim trailhead from the Hidden Lake Parking lot. Both routes include total roundtrip distance.

  • Paper Airplane Route - 10.4 miles: Paper Airplane -> Summit Pass / Shelter Hill Rd -> East Brim
  • Summit Pass Rd Route - 9.0 miles: Summit Pass / Shelter Hill Rd -> East Brim

Whenever you are riding on Summit Pass Rd or Shelter Hill Rd, always watch for construction vehicles and cars.

Look for this signage posted along Shelter Hill Rd, which guides you to the East Brim trailhead.

Trail Rules

  • Stay on designated trails.
  • Respect all closures and posted signs.
  • Active construction may be occurring. Do not enter construction areas or bypass barriers.
  • Watch for construction traffic, authorized vehicles, and heavy equipment. Yield to all work vehicles and operators.
  • Be aware of uneven terrain, loose rocks, and changing trail conditions.
  • Wildlife may be present. Maintain a safe distance and do not feed, approach, or harass wildlife.
  • Pack out all trash and help protect the natural environment.
  • No smoking, vaping, or open flames.
