Snow Kite Lessons & Tours

Beginner Snow Kite Group 2 Hr lesson 

Start from the beginning, learn the basics of snow kiting and how to safely fly a two line kite boarding kite.

  • Weather forecasting, what conditions work best 
  • Picking a launch site & a safe place to ride
  • Learn about the "wind window"
  • Set up
  • Moving with a kite
  • Creating lift and pull
  • Changing directions
  • Speed control
  • How to stop and pack up equipment
  • Prepare you for your next lesson

$75 per person (1-3 students in group)

Lessons start at the Timberline Yurt 9:30 and 1:00 

(Two students must participate; otherwise the lesson converts to a 1-hour Lesson beginning at the original start time.)

Half Day Snow Kite Lesson

This is a private lesson that is customized to your kiting ability and progression. Beginner or advanced

  • Set up and safety on a 4 line inflatable kite
  • How to fly with a harness
  • Self Launching and Landing in the snow
  • Re-launching
  • Speed and Power control with a 4 line kite
  • Self Rescue on snow
  • How to ride back and forth on skis or snowboard
  • Changing Direction

$300 for 1 or 2 people

($200 if you supply your own kites and harness)

Lessons start at the Timberline Yurt 9:30 and 1:00 

 

Half Day Snow Kite Adventure

This adventure is for people who have skiing or riding skills and have kite boarded on the water. Own their own kite equipment, and want to take their kiting to the snow.

  • Differences of water and snow kiting
  • Mountain weather
  • Set up and safety on the snow
  • Self Launching and landing on snow
  • Get some pointers on kite and board position
  • Learning how to jump
  • Technique for kiting up and down hills 

$200 for up to 3 people. (You must supply your own equipment.)
