Timberline Lift - Chair Auction

The Auction Details

Starting Monday, April 29th at noon and ending Sunday, May 12th at midnight we will be auctioning off 50 chairs from the Timberline Lift. 100% of the online auction profits will be donated to the Community Foundation of Ogden Valley (CFOV)! Chairs 56 - 105 will be auctioned off. You will be notified by email and text when you are outbid, giving you a chance to make a counteroffer or bid on another chair.

If you win a chair, pickup will be located at Powder Mountain Resort, July 10th - 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Check in at Arbor Lodge before pick up. We recommend a pickup truck, trailer, or box truck for pickup.

Chairlift Dimensions: Length 9ft - Width 5ft 6in - Depth 3ft

We will NOT ship or hold equipment. No exceptions. Any chairs that are not picked up by 4:00 p.m. July 17 will be put back up for auction. Each chair is being auctioned off “as is”. Conditions of individual chairs may vary. Each chair will include the chair pad and hanger. Hangers have been detached for convenient transport. Pickup dates and times are subject to change as the safety of guests coming up the mountain is a top priority. Ongoing construction at Powder Mountain may effect this process.

About Community Foundation of Ogden Valley

100% of the Timberline Chairlift Auction profits will be sent directly to the Community Foundation of Ogden Valley (CFOV). The Community Foundation is a philanthropic center serving donors and nonprofits that seek to improve the lives of the community that live, work, or play in Ogden Valley. CFOV's non-profits focus on areas such as recreation, arts, education, health and human services. Check out who their 15 local non-profits are.

A couple weeks ago, the community came out in droves to pay their respects to our beloved Timberline Chairlift, and we were able to raise $62,550 for the CFOV with nail-biting, live chairlift auctions. Powder Mountain is well on it's way to reaching our $100,000 fundraising goal!

Timberline Lift History and Future

The Timberline Lift opened for the 1972/73 season, just one year after Powder Mountain officially opened with Sundown only. Since then, it has played a crucial role in expanding our terrain, connecting Sundown, Hidden Lake, and Timberline terrain zones. Over time, it has grown more sentimental to long-time locals and visitors alike, as it is one of the last lifts of its kind in Utah. Maintaining fixed-grip lifts older than the Godfather has become a difficult task; Powder Mountain is ready for the new era of Timberline.

During the Summer of 2024, the Timberline Lift will be replaced with a quad, significantly increasing carrying capacity. This upgrade will greatly assist Powder Mountain in maintaining non-existent lift lines and uncrowded slopes.
